The Four Skillful Steps to Making The Cutting Edge of Our Shears
After our steel blades are beveled on a mill,
we heat treat them to their final desired hardness.
Then, the handles are attached.
Hand-grinding the double-beveled cutting edge is the final step in crafting our glassblowing shears.
This handiwork takes time and requires real skill, but it produces a superbly sharp edge—and that’s worth it.
The hand grinding makes the blade retain sharpness, and it’s less affected by prolonged exposure to heat.
